unless exact username is searched for..
example:
username is "arobinson"..
If I type "arobinson" and click on "check names" it finds it.
If I open the "search for people and groups" and search for "arobinson"
it finds it.
But..
If I type just "robinson" neither "check names" nor "search for people
and groups" returns it.
