People picker issues with FBA on Extended Web App

Date: May 29    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1624

I have an app at port 81 using both NTLM and forms(winth sql membership). The
app was extended to port 82 where it uses only NTLM. On port 81 (with NTLM and
forms) I can see forms auth users in the People Picker. However on port 82
(with just NTLM), I can't.

If I enable Forms on port 82, i can log on using forms auth and and i can even
see forms auth users in the People Picker. This tells me the srttings in my
web.config are good. But once I turn off forms auth I can no longer see people
in the people picker. I dont't want to have FBA enabled on my intranet!

Can the peoplepicker show FBA users if the extednded web app doesn't have fba
enabled?

When you "turn off" FBA, are you removing the providers from the web app? I
believe the PP needs those.

No, I'm Leaving the providers in the web config.

SHOULD I see the FBA Users in the people picker if the extended web app is not
FBA enabled, but there is a sqlmembership provider in the web config? I would
assume that it should work that way!

Does this work for anyone?
