PC-DOCS and Sharepoint

Asked By: Umesh    Date: Apr 24    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1040

Is any of you aware of an IFilter for PC-DOCs or an other way to integrate a
sharepoint portal site to crawl a PC-DOCS database ?

Technically, you need a custom SPS "Protocol Handler" (and I don't know
if one exists for PC-DOCS).

SPS protocol handlers are used to fetch the files/documents from a
proprietary document store. IFilters are used to break up the documents
contents for indexing once they have been fetched from the store.

Assuming you're working with regular Officer documents, etc. in PC-DOCS,
you don't need an IFilter - just a custom protocol handler.

I actually meant a PC-DOCS "Protocol Handler" rather than IFilter

Anyone heard of existence of such protocal handler to crawl  PC-DOCS database?
