Page reload problem

Asked By: Marlin    Date: Dec 19    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 688

I just ran into an interesting problem that appears to be a problem with IE not reloading a SPS page after a check in.

Two users, both with fully updated WinXP/IE6, go through the process of:
- checking out a document
- using the menu to "edit in microsoft office excel"
- make a change, file, exit
- when prompted, they select "save changes and check in"

For one user, the SPS Site automatically reloads the page and updates the check out status, to show that no one has the document checked out anymore. The other user does not get the page reload, and it sits still and continues to show that they have the document checked out until they hit F5. We tried changing IE cache settings from automatically to every time and also deleted the cache files and Advanced, restore defaults.

It appears to be a client problem, with IE not dynamically reloading the page. Googling hasn't given me any good answers. Any suggestions?
