Overwrite custom CSS file after some time in Team Site

I am facing strange problem with custom added css file inside team
site in MS SPS 2003.
I am making changes in the header and body css in my custom added CSS
file and it applies perfectly through MS Front Page 2003 but after
some time, it rolls back all the changes and when i see my css file
again, it shows old contents.

I tried to checked out/ checked in as well but problem still exist.

Have you applied any service packs and etc. If you have custom specs,
service packs may overwrite things.

You may also have issues (espeically in farms) if you are editing the css
directly, rather than copying it and using the copy via the AlternateCSS
setting. The former is unspported, the latter being the prescribed method.
