Orphaned solution

Asked By: Stephanie    Date: Aug 19    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1429

I have an orphaned solution that I cannot retract or delete.

In Central Admin, I go into Operations / Timer Job Definitions. I click the
link for: Windows SharePoint Services Solution Retraction for "xxx.wsp". In the
Edit Timer Job page, I click the Delete button and receive the following error:

The object with id <guid> does not exist in the configuration store. The object
may have been deleted by another operation.

I run: "stsadm -o execadmsvcjobs" to execute any timer jobs. This end
successfully, but nothing occurs.

I then run: "stsadm -o enumdeployments" and get Deployments Count = 0.

I go back into the Timer Job Definitions (in Central Admin) - it still appears.

In Solution management, I see xxx.wsp with a Status = Retracting(scheduled at
10/20/2008 8:02 AM ). I click on this wsp, then click the link to Cancel
Retraction Job - I receive the same error message.

I need help - I can't re-deploy the solution until I remove this orphaned timer
job.
