Organization Hierarchy Performance Issue - MySites

Asked By: Imran    Date: Feb 12    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1097

Is there a way to 'paginate' or otherwise 'tweak' the organizational
hierarchy leaf node level in the Organization Hierarchy used in MySites?

We have an issue where we have a large number of people (ie. 2000)
reporting to a single 'manager' so the number of nodes at the leaf
level for these users is massive. This is causing a huge performance
issue when viewing the MySite page for any user where the huge
hierarchy is rendered (the page takes forever to render).

We have not been able to find a way to rectify this (our only options
are to live with it or exclude the manager from the AD import (which
renders the org hierarchy useless since you need the manager field to
render the tree). Unfortunately, changing the AD reporting structure
is not an option.

Ideally we would like to render the tree in stages or somehow exclude
the leaf level when more than XX number of nodes returned.

We are trying to do as little customization as possible.
