Opening a file

Asked By: Noemi    Date: Jun 23    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1400

I have a file that I want to open on another server. I'm using SQL Lite and
need to open the database file on a server separate from any SharePoint server
(not a WFE or SQL box). Is there anything special that needs to be done? The
file open is being done in C# as part of the development of a webpart.

I'm not sure what kind of file  you are trying to open, but if you are doing it
with C# then you would use the same code that you would use in a normal
ASP.NET<http://ASP.NET> website.

Should be able to use File.Open(unc path), however, since this is
sharepoint, running as a user, running within IIS, you'll most likely have a
slew of permission related issues.
