Older clients and login boxes

Asked By: Ganesh    Date: Nov 28    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 976

Unfortuantely I've got a few older machines that are running NT 4.0. When
people try to access Office documents on the portal server, they're given a
login prompt This prompt is often BEHIND the browser window, and these
people can't see the prompt. Pressing cancel lets them proceed, but I'd much
rather not let them see it at all (like Windows XP and Office XP installed
machines.)

Anybody have any success with this?

I install SP1 on the SPS server  and then reinstalled the client on the NT4
boxes. This worked. However, you have to have SP6a running  on the NT
boxes.
