Can You use ODBC connection to access SharePoint List 2010?

Asked By: Shradha    Date: Apr 11    Category: Sharepoint 2010    Views: 8657

I m using a third party BI tool which creates reports. it only takes text files and ODBC( Excel and Access) connections to generate reports. I want to avoid using text files, Excel/Access. Instead, I want to feed my SharePoint 2010 list data directly to the BI tool using ODBC. Can I do that at the first place? I can do it using excel or access as an intermediate tool but my concern is if there's a ODBC connection for SharePoint list that I can use to feed the BI tool.?

Hi in SP 2010, we have an feature external content types in designer. Here you can add an DB connection and use this to display data.
