We are going to install Sharepoint on a test basis. Thedocumentation makes reference to installing SPS on a server runningExchange 2000 server. We will *not* be doing that. What is the procedure regarding installing SPS on a server in thesame domain as an Exchange 2000 server? Does anything (a client typeservice maybe) need to be installed on the Exchange server itself? Can SPS in fact index the Exchange 2000 server in any way using thisconfiguration?
Installing Exchange 2000 and SPS is no longer supported by Microsoft on thesame machine. In any case you want to setup Sharepoint on its own server.
r u sure what u said ??As per my knowledge, you can actually install them on same machine, butprovided that Exchange Server be the first one to be installed.
Install Exchange 2000 SP1 on Exchange Startard edition before youinstall SPS.NOT apply Exchange SP2 and SPS SP1.
Since Exchange SP2 and SPS SP1, SPS and Exchange are not supported on thesame machine. There is some serious performance and scalability issue so Iwill NOT recommend sharing a box for SPS and Exchange
