Not able to create project in .Net 2003

We have installed the w2k3
Win2k3 Sp1
Installed the iis
installed the sql 2000 server on same server with sp3
installed the .net 2003 (Installed the frontpage serer extension)
Installed office 2003.

Installed share point portal 2003.(Removed the front page server

following are the Changes done in the IIS.
1)Earlier we have installed the .net 2003 with frontpage server
exntesion on port 80
2)while installing the share point we have uninstalled the front page
server extension and created additional virutal directory for the
share point website & change the default web site port to 8080 and 80
for share point website.

Now am not able to create the project in the .Net
Error while creating the project-
'http://localhost/WebApplication1'. 'HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request'

If you created a portal/wss site… Have you excluded the “WebApplication1” in the managed paths for your virtual server? If not, SharePoint is trying to manage the web application. Once you exclude it, it should allow VS.NET to interact with IIS.

You need an excluded managed path for your virtual server. This can be
created in SharePoint Central Administration.
