no subsites in SPS _SITE db?

Asked By: Stacey    Date: Jun 09    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 664

I have a small server farm SPS setup, with SQL and Web server running
separately.

I've restored an SPS site from 3 db's after my site crashed, in
Central Admin.
Did this by first removing my Portal Site, then going Create a
Portal, select Restore a Portal, selecting 3 db's and OK.
(the 3 db's are PROF, SERV and SITE for same portal site)

However I can't find the previous Subsites (teams / docs) in the
restored Portal?
I've restored from previous daily SQL backups of the 3 db's and also
no subsites.
There have been many sites / doc's created and I'd like to recover
them.

If I query "select unique dirname from docs" in _SITE db, i don't see
subsites either.
After restoring and recreating certain content, i do see subsites in
the above query.
The site is a GP BP3 site, so I expect to
see /sites/businessportal/sitexxx/ in results.

Any idea where the previous doc's / sites could have gone?
