No Search results in Project Workspace Template if Contributor

Site was created in MOSS 2007 with Project Workspace Template
and many documents were uploaded. Contributors can see the documents but they
can't search for them in SharePoint Search. People with Full Control can see and
search. Any ideas?

Is approval and/or versioning/publishing turned on for the document
library? If so, are the documents approved and published as a major
version?
