Newbie list view question: accessing the total field

I understand that a list can be grouped up to two levels using the UI.
I am totalling an amount column in a grouping. I would like to filter
the view such that if the total column is a certain amount the records
should be shown. However I'm not sure how to access the total field,
either through the UI or Frontpage 2003.

I am able to filter on the column itself, but I'm interested in the
total of the column. Is this fairly straightforward?
