Newbee Needs Help With sharing Resources Across Multiple Sites

I have a basic question. I just set up 5 sites for my company but now
I seen to have hit a wall. Is there a way to share the knowledgebase,
Incident Log, Bugbase across multiple sites? Should I have done web
parts? I need a site that supports help desk, programmers, sales and
project managers.

You should have created lists in one site  collection for better sharing. Site
Collections are used if you want isolations between teams.

Sharing lists on different sub-sites within one site  collections is also
DIFFICULT. You almost cannot do it based on my experience as a newbie. For
example, I cannot get workflow to access lists in a different sub-site.
Roll-ups are extremely difficult (IMHO) but can be done.
