.Net Runtime coexist with SPPS ?

Can the .Net runtime (and SDK) be installed alongside Sharepoint?

There have been posts in the past by users who state not to do it. I ran
.Net and sps on the same machine for sometime without problems. Also the
MS Solutions for Intranets (v1.5) states to install the .Net framework.
I set up 3 machines per the solution and had no issues.

No problem. Microsoft even recommends it in their Prescriptive Architecture for
MSI.

We have been running it on our servers and some of our clients' as well with no
problem.
