Multiple User Accounts Showing in People Picker - WSS 3.0

Asked By: Darci Knowles         Date: Mar 31, 2009      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 436

When my users use the Add User function in our WSS install to grant
permissions to content it is pulling up multiple accounts for
individuals who have an account in our primary MGC\ domain and an
account in our development MGCDEV\ domain. I'm hitting a wall trying to
figure out how to filter out the MGCDEV\ results and decided to just
post here.

We are currently running WSS 3.0.

There is a Microsoft document that might help if you are using site
collections to differentiate your two domains. Look up the
file "Creating Shared Hosting Solutions on Windows SharePoint
Services 3.0" Section 15.4.3 describes a command line option to limit
People Picker to only search within current site collection.
