Multiple file upload for document libraries not working

Has anyone encountered this before?
When I go to upload multiple documents, I get an error that
says "Windows SharePoint Services cannot be run at this location" then
it lists the location of the document library.
I know that I can circumvent the issue by opening up the document
library in an explorer window, but I am not sure that this option will
work for my client.
I also double checked to make sure that the size of the files was under
the maximum upload limit and it was..

Is the server in an IE zone with correct IE security set? Did you check
IE Advanced settings? It uses the stsupld.dll(sp?) that ships with MS
Office for multiple file upload. You could try to repair Office as well.
