MSProject and VS Team Foundation Server

I know MSProject and the VS Team Foundation Server use WSS to
provide collaboration tools.

Is there any value or reason to try to make those webs part of an
SPS Portal?

what I mean is, should I care that the content in those sites
require their own database?

Is there anyway to make them behave like sites inside a portal?

Finally, suppose I have my portal with it's database server and I
have my MSProject server with it's database server and my TFS with
it's database server, if I wanted to get them all on the same
database server, is it as simple as moving the databases and running
through the WSS Admin pages to point the WSS server to the new
databases?

I guess I'm confused as to why it's not easier to make all these WSS
tools play nice together.

You're VS Team System project WSS sites run on ASP.Net 2.0, and SharePoint Portal server doesn't support 2.0 I don't think, even with the latest service pack. If you were just using WSS, it might be feasible (although I don't know about worthwhile) to combine them all. That's the major issue that comes to mind,although there are probably others. We faced a similar recently, we've basically decided not to implement Portal server at all right now and just use WSS with the added benefit of .Net 2.0 support. We also use Corasworks components extensively to organize and tie our WSS sites together. Anyone else have any insight they could share?

After reading this post I just sent, I realized that I assumed, possibly incorrectly, that the Team Foundation Server WSS sites must run on ASP.Net 2.0. Is there any reason why they couldn't run on 1.1?

SPS SP2 add asp.net 2.0 into the mix??
