Msdmback restore not working

Asked By: Gopal    Date: Nov 15    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 657

I rebuilt my development SPS server and I would like to restore a backup image
created with msdmback. However the restore fails with the following errors:

Windows Script Host
Script: bkp.vbs
Line: 57
Char: 1
Error: Automation error
Code: C7FE1F45

Information Store, 1140, ErrESECBRestoreComplete, 0xC8000202, The version of the
log file is not compatible with the version of the Microsoft Exchange Server
database (EDB).

I restored the server exactly, including SPS Service Pack1. All the required
services are also running.

Has any had a similar problem? Any suggestions?

Make sure you have the same service pack that you had when you did the
back up

Yes I have the same Windows 2000 service pack and SPS service pack.

If you're trying to restore  from a root folder, like D:\spsback.bak, you
need to move the file into a subdir, like D:\backups\spsback.bak.

I'm confused as to the bkp.vbs tho -- what's that?

Thanks, I rebuilt the server  again and now it appears to be working. I must have
missed something the first time.

bkp.vbs is just a script  we created to backup  the server
