Can anyone offer tips as to how to move a wiki from one site collection
to another without losing version history or created-by and created

Have you tried saving it as a list template? I haven't tried it, but it might work.

If you've got a wiki  subsite (as opposed to just a wiki list) you can use
STSADM's export operation to get it out and the import operation to put it in
the destinatino site  collection.

Nope, it's a wiki  libary--not a full subsite. And saving as a
template doesn't preserve history  or creation metadata. Given it's a
wiki library with no upload option, I can't even save a page and
upload it to see if that carries version  and metadata.

You could buy Syntergy's Cut and Paste for $1,500--only worth it if
you will have an ongoing need for this.

Get an eval version  of AvePoint's DocAve and use their backup/restore to
move it.

You might like the product and decide to keep it after you try their
point and click moving  items.

Is it a separate site?

If so, couldn't you move  it with STSADM ?
