Moving Lists From WSS to MOSS

Asked By: Donavan    Date: Apr 10    Category: MOSS    Views: 571

Working with SPD, what's the easiest way to move numerous Lists from a
WSS site to a MOSS site? Can I just drag and drop or do I have to
export to a spreadsheet and then import?

I don't know if this is the optimal solution, but here are a few options:

-Save each list as a template - make sure you save the contents of the
list when doing so. Export the list template to a file. On the other
server, you can run a "stsadm -o addtemplate" command to add the template.

-If your lists  are contained within a site, you can save the site  as a
template - make sure you save the contents of the list when doing so.
Export the site template to a file. On the other server, you can run a
"stsadm -o addtemplate" command to add the template. You can then create
a new site based off this template.

-Here are 2 links you can follow for a 3rd option:
