Moving a List item under a folder to another folder

Asked By: Sonny Hoover         Date: Apr 21, 2008      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 2450

Here is a hypothetical condition and question:

Let's say I created a list called "Toys." Then I make a simple form up
with a few fields in it. (field names not important for this example).

Now I create 3 folders in this new list, one called "Trains,"
another "Cars," yet another "planes,"

In PLANES, I click on NEW, and enter information into the form, then
hit OK.

Then, I just realised the entery I made was not for PLANES, but for
CARS.

How do I move that entery in the PLANES folder to the CARS folder?

One way would be to use the "Content and Structure" when you click
on 'Site Actions' then 'Site Settings' then click  'Content and
Structure'.

Another way would be a custom workflow.

It should work when I use the "Content and Structure" but when I
select "MOVE" I get an error that tells me to try again. Don't know
why it won't just move  it to the new  folder.
