Can you move the Shared Documents listing into the web parts section

We would like to move the Shared Documents listing into the main
center section of a site we created. Currently, it is in the left
column, as it is OOB.

Is there any way we can move this to the center section, where
webparts are currently displayed? Does this require customization
of the template? Is this possible at all?

Use FrontPage to move the web part to the location you want, then save
the page/site, then use that as a template for future site creations.
