MOSS2007 hit high lighted summary

Asked By: Darren    Date: May 05    Category: MOSS    Views: 931

In MOSS2007, I believe the default search web part uses
'hithighlightedsummary' to show the context of the page or document in
the search results. We'd like to know how that data is generated.

It appears to start somewhere near the first instance of one of the
search terms in the document. Are we on the right track? We can't seem
to pin down exactly how far previous to the first instance is shown, how
long the excerpt is, or how it splices on other excerpts from other
parts of the page.

Is this documented anywhere?
