I'm attempting to install MOSS in what matches up to be about a Medium Farm
and I have a question about where certain Services should be run. I have
the following servers and services mapped out:


- FEW1
- Windows SharePoint Services Web Application
- Office SharePoint Server Search - Running the Search Query
Option
- FEW2
- Windows SharePoint Services Web Application
- Office SharePoint Server Search - Running the Search Query
Option
- Index1
- Windows SharePoint Services Web Application (this will
eventually be the home of the SSP Admin web site)
- Office SharePoint Server Search - Running the Search Index
Option
- SQL

By question is around the service called "Windows SharePoint Services
Search". What is the best place to run this one? All the servers? Just once
on the Index1 box? And what added value does this provide over the Office
SharePoint Server Search functionality? I thought I read somewhere that this
might be to support searching the help documentation but I can't confirm or
deny that.
