If i'd only have 4 servers, and my requirements are:
1. 10k + users
2. 5G+ of data
How should i configure my env ?
(1) MOSS FE Server
(1) Index Server / Query
(2) SQL 2005 Servers
or would (2) MOSS Servers and (1) SQL server be better ?

Do you want Excel services? How oftfen the data is updated? By all
users or only few of them?

If you do not need excel services, then 2 front end, one index  and
one database is fine.

If you like to have excel services with heavy usage, then one frone
end, one for excel, one for indexing and one for database.

Or, you can have two front end, one excel, one for databases. You
have plenty of options.

Short answer - if it is critical, I would have 1 SQL Active (APP1 - no
SharePoint server  2007 installed), 2nd SQL passive with SharePoint
Server 2007 apps (APP2), with 2 WFEs. That's not pefect because you
really don't want apps on your SQL Server. But, if you only have 4
servers, then at least SQL can fail over to your SharePoint Server 2007
app server.

I figure from all your answers that 1 SQL server  can handle the load,
it's the MOSS servers  that need as much power as possible ?

Generally, we size 4 moss  server processors to 1 sql server  processor

Obviously this changes depending on what is actually being done and how its used
but it gives you some idea of the basic numbers
