MOSS 2007 Upgrade - NTLM or Kerberos?

To add to my string of questions for the day:

During the in-place upgrade for MOSS 2007 you are asked if you want to
use NTLM or Kerberos. It indicates that Kerberos is preferred...

Why should you, or would you want to, use Kerberos over NTLM? (and

Are you sure you read that right? I am almost positive it says to
use NTLM. Unless you have a specific reason why you would want to
use Kerberos go with NTLM.

Actually, it says the opposite... which is why I was a tad confused
(though that would be par for the course today...).

"Kerberos is the recommended security configuration to use with
Integrated Windows authentication...." -from the splash screen in
Configure SharePoint Central Administration Web Application.

Kerberos is more secure

Ntlm is easier to set up (no need to set up service principal names)

Personally, I would stay with whatever you are using currently until you
have finished the upgrade  to remove one more thing that can go wrong -
after upgrading you may want to read

I was just reading the section on NTML Vs. Kerberos in Scott
Hilliers new sharepoint book. Kerberos is more secure but requires
active directory permissions and some steps to set it up. NTLM will
just work but it uses more resources as it does not cache ticket
credentials. I would reccomend buy the book its really good so far
