MOSS 2007 SP2 and Central Administration

Asked By: Rickie Bray         Date: Jan 01, 2010      Category: MOSS      Views: 257

I was going through the process of applying SP2 to our medium server MOSS 2007
virtual environment (2 app server, 2 wfe servers, cluster sql server) when I hit
what seems to be an issue with the CA.

I was able to complete the install on the first APP1 server and it launch our CA
site fine so I moved to the next APP2 server and finished it there but this time
the CA did not launch correctly I got an error of "The Web site cannot be found,
11004 - Host not found".

Since I was in the middle of the upgrade I continued with the WFE servers with
the same results but I have also found that I can not hit the MOSS sites that we
had setup on any of the 3 machines either. I can hit the CA and the other sites
using APP1 but not from the other three MOSS servers. Any ideas?

check the hosts file in the
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
It has been my experience that sometimes it makes changes to this file and i
cannot connect to the CA.
