MOSS 2007 on Server 2008

Asked By: Tabatha    Date: Sep 16    Category: MOSS    Views: 1142

I'm having an issue getting MOSS to work on 2008, I have it installed (correctly
to the best of my knowledge) but I can't edit anything. The server is a
standalone member server (it's in a VM if that makes any difference) and I have
SQL 2008 running on it as well for the DBs. It has been suggested that this
might be tied to it not being a DC. Any thoughts?

Your MOSS box doesn't need to be a DC.

What do you mean you can't edit anything?

I've been playing around with it on server  2008 since we talked and I don't have
any issues getting either MOSS or WSS to work. I've done it both as a member
server and a DC. Are you sure your VM can talk to the non-VM DC?

When I go to the site Mgmt none of the dropdowns work, I can look at the default
page all day long but I can't add/remove/change anything! And this is a fresh
install of MOSS Paul, I uninstalled WSS 3 and installed the full blown MOSS (EOY
spending spree) It was so easy on 2003.........

Just a thought...

I have seen where the drop-down menus do not work and by adding the
site to the intranet or trusted IE zone fixed the problem. It was an
issue of the JS not being allowed to run.

I am also running MOSS in production on 2008 without issues.
