MOSS 2007 with Oracle

Asked By: Shauna    Date: Jan 09    Category: MOSS    Views: 747

While installing MOSS 2007, it automatically install some
components of SQL Server 2005. Underlying DB is SQL Server 2005.
Can i have ORACLE as DB for MOSS 2007 (meant instead of SQL Server
2005, files will be stored in Oracle DB) ? If that is done, where to
configure MOSS 2007 ?

You already have your answer on Oracle.

However, normally you will want SQL on a separate box, not the embedded
SQL that is installed with Basic or Standalone installations.

Select Complete as your installation options in the advanced options to
install all MOSS07 components and select your SQL instance to use.

It does not have to be an instance dedicated to SharePoint.
