MOSS 2007 Backup and Restore

Asked By: Darius    Date: Apr 22    Category: MOSS    Views: 855

I have backed up my server from the Central administration backup option. In SPS
2003 it used to take backup of the content databases as well. Does the same
thing happen in MOSS 2007.

Also i have a single server farm currently anf will be moving to a two server
farm. This means that the information stored in the backup where the database
server was on the same server is wrong. It will try to look for a datbase on the
same server.

If you do a backup  in Central Admin and check every box your content
databases will be backed up.

Are you trying to split MOSS and SQL onto separate servers? I haven't
tested it (I should) but I think you can back your databases and
everything up, restore  it to your second SQL server, rerun the
SharePoint Config Wizard and point it at the new SQL server, and then
restore your databases.

Might want to test that first though.
