He's wrong. Sharepoint can be a plain presentation layer tool. It can
also be a workflow engine, team collaboration, data management, document
management, and so forth. Many very large law firms are looking at
using Sharepoint 2010 as our Document Management Systems. Here at Fish,
we've been using Sharepoint since 2001. It is part of our culture. In
2001 we evaluated Plumtree, Law Portal and Sharepoint for our Intranet.
We made the right choice in going with Sharepoint. We use it for our
Intranet, Extranets, collaboration sites, internal blogs, internal
employee directory and many workflow processes. We're looking forward
to Sharepoint 2010. We've been using it as part of the Office TAP for a
while now.
