How to Monitor the storage usage for a site

Asked By: Jeramy    Date: Jan 10    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 3952

If any one knows how to monitor or obtain the storage usage for
a site without using API please let me know. We can do this at site
collection level using central admin right?

have you tried to create a Quota Template from central  admin?

The stsadm command will show storage  used if you supply the "enumsites"
operator.

If you have a quota assigned to a site  collection in Site Settings there
will be a "Storage Space Allocation" link under Site Collection
Administration. It gives you the information you're looking for.

I tried the following stsadm command:

C:\>stsadm -o enumsubwebs -url http://......

It only lists the subsites, not the storage  info. is there anything missing
here?

To my knowledge, this storage  information is only maintained for the top-level
site. This is why the "enumsites" operator captures this but the "enumsubwebs"
does not.
