Modify Sharepoint Email Alert "Item ID"

I would like to modify the "Item ID" in the email alert sent by
sharepoint to a more descriptive value such as the record "title".

I think you can customize alerts messages here

<drive>:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\60\TEMPLATE\1033\XML
there is an article about this in Microsoft web site.

I don’t have a \DATA\ folder in the SharePoint Portal Server directory. Should I?

I can't find that article in msdn now, maybe in the evening I'll find it. SPSFAQ mentioned about alerts at the very end of the page.
