Migration: Sharepoint Home Page

Asked By: Ty    Date: Aug 11    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 10849

Hi everyone, we are migrating from SPS 2001 to 2003. In SPS 2001,
we used to
have a simple .htm start page that people could click and it would
then take
them into the sps portal site (after authenticating).
I want to be able to do the same with the new version. That is, if
my portal
address was http://intranet.sample.com, it would first go to
a .htm page
from which you can get to the portal by clicking a link.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I created this page  fine - it works fine. Is there anyway to set
anonymous access to this page? Basically what I'm envisioning is
using this default.htm page as a page where someone can request
access to the portal. Right now the page must be authenticated
before you can view the page.

Or should I just use host header or dns and reroute to an excluded
path or something?

You need to use a excluded path
