MIGRATION ISSUE

Asked By: Janak    Date: Aug 16    Category: MOSS    Views: 732

I am trying to do Full Database migration from SharePoint 2003
to MOSS 2007. I have installed WSS SP2 ran the pre-scan without any
error. I took the MDF file and attached it on the test Server SQL. All
worked fine but when I tried attaching the Content DB to a SharePoint
Web App. It threw the error " The pre-upgrade scan tool has not yet been
run on this database SPContentDatabas

e Name=KM1_Site Parent=SPDatabaseServiceInstance. You must run the
pre-upgrade s

can tool before you can continue with the upgrade process. Run the tool
from the

following path: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web
Server Exten

sions\12\bin\prescan.exe."

I have already ran the prescan and then took the MDF file. Then why this
error?????

Is Service Pack of SPS 2003 sp2 and wss2.0 SP2 intalled on your SharePoint
server?
and then again use prescan tool
and for restoring the content databse use command line i.e using
stsadm.exeon moss  server

Also install SPS 2003 SP2

The Sequence is first install WSS 2.0 SP2 and then install SPS2003 SP2 on
SharePoint 2003 server.

The fact is that I got no error on the pre-scan. That implies that
everything is set for the migration.
