Migrate SPS 2003 profiles from NT 4 to AD

I am migrating a NT4 domain to AD and have a large number of
profiles on my Sharepoint 2003 server. There are a lot of specific
permissions and am trying to figure out how to move the profiles
from the NT4.0 to the new AD users. Here are a couple of twists.
Due to decisions above my own....the domain name is different and
the user names are different. SID history is the same and both the
new and old accounts currently exhist. SID history didn't help
any. Any ideas?

Sharepoint profile both uses SID and account name, so if your account
name has changed you are out of luck. What you could try, is to modify
the UserInfo table in the SITE table to have the user account name match
the new account
