Migrate Application from 2003 to MOSS

We have an application on our SPPS 2003 server that runs in the /_layouts/
folder of the hive and it uses Inpersonation to access team sites and gather
lists items for display on the portal front page. Any suggestions on migrating
it from Visual Studio 2003 to Visual studio 2005 and getting it to run on MOSS.
