Microsoft Releases Free App for Mac-SharePoint Connection

In case you have (or are) Mac users and haven't heard:

Microsoft has released Service Pack 2 for Microsoft Office 2008 for
Macintosh. Included free in the SP is a new application called Microsoft
Document Connection. It vastly simplifies using document libraries in
SharePoint (or Office Live, MS's online service) from Macintoshes.

Document Connection allows you to drag-and-drop files and groups of files
(but not folders) between your Mac and a SharePoint library. It also allows
you to open a document for editing, then save back to SharePoint directly
(rather than having to manage the download and upload to a temporary file
yourself). Check-out, check-in, and status information are also included.
In some ways, this is better than the Windows "Web Folder" approach.

One minor tip: If you want to use Document Connection with SharePoint sites
using basic authentication, you must first open the app's Preferences and
select "Enable Basic authentication".
