MetaData to not be Crawled.

Asked By: Holly    Date: Apr 10    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1373

I know you can eliminate certain Webs from showing in SharePoint Search
Results.

I would like to eliminate certain metadata. AccountName is a required
field in Managed Property Settings, but I would like it not to appear in
searches. Is there a way to keep SharePoint from providing this
anywhere, and only use the domain account for input on user security
pages?

There are also some other places I would be grateful to see that
AccountName dissappears from when I make this change.

Here are some more thoughts:

Adding some XSLT to the results page core results web part lets me see
the output data

msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb428855.aspx

The AccountName data I do not wish to display is in the XML element
<All_results><Result><hithighlightedsummary>

(Below)

Is there a way to keep the search service from providing
<highlightedsummary>?

I noticed in managed  properties that highlighted summary includes
multiple properties, but cannot be modified. Is there a way to modify
this property  programatically so it doesn't include Account Name?

Otherwise do you think I'll have to custom code the Core Search Results
Web Part? Or perhaps a web service that is provided to it?

I suspect that if I was smart enough with XSLT I could figure out how
not to display it on search results, but the data is still provided
which for us is still a security concern.
