MCMS to MOSS Image Migration Issue

Asked By: Loren    Date: Jan 15    Category: MOSS    Views: 981

We are migrating sites from MCMS to MOSS. The migration approach being followed is the OOTB content migration. We have observed that in some pages the images seems to be not migrated. In the view source of the page the <img> attribute is shown without any ‘src’ attribute or rather it appears as <img alt="" border=0>,whereas the same page in the MCMS contains a well defined image tag with src. We are not sure as to why this is happening because most of the images have got migrated. Has anyone come across similar issues of missing images after migration?

I remember other users also encountered the same problem when they migrated  from MCMS to MOSS. It seems that if the images  are placed in the image  placeholders, they will be migrated successfully. However if the image is embedded inside HTML content, then the src attributes will miss. In MOSS 2007, local images and attachments will no longer be supported. We recommend you put the image in image libraries and redefine the source  for these images. Thanks for your understanding.
