Max Upload Size in sharepoint

  Asked By: Clinton    Date: Nov 22    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1779

How to upload files (>300 mb) to document library. Though I had changed the max upload size setting to 500 mb.

I have used multiple upload files interface but after uploading some time login pop-up is coming and saying can’t upload

I have used explorer view also to copy but after uploading some time error message came and uploading process stopped.

Most of the files are already zipped

Some setup files are also there (not possible to zip)

There was a bug pre-SP1, that prevented upload  of large files. Basically, the web.config was not updated correctly after changing the default value

2 options

1. Upgrade your installation to SP1
2. Modify the web.config
<httpRuntime maxRequestLength="512000" executionTimeout="9000"/>
where 512000 = 500Mb
where 9000 represents the timeout for a given http connection, adjust this value as appropriate as the default value will not be sufficient for uploading large file

Search for "large file support" in the WSS admin guide: www.microsoft.com/.../default.mspx
