Has anyone had experience moving a master page they modified withSharePoint Designer to a production server? Or is it better practiceto just modify the file with another tool that doesn't un-ghost thefile.
Yes... I think the best process for this is to use provision the file intodifferent environments using file provisioning in features & solutions. I did awrite up on the arguments for this method on my blog:www.andrewconnell.com/.../5451.aspxThis technique will keep your pages uncustomized (ghosted) as long as you don'topen them in SharePoint Designer and make changes once they've been provisioned.
