mass delete

Asked By: Aditi    Date: Apr 25    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 2125

We are a Law School that has 200 students per class with a total of 600
students. At the end of every year we need to delete the graduating 200
students while keeping the other 400. What's the best way to delete all
the data, and content for the graduating 200 students?

It depends on your structure but if you setup your server to have a WSS
top-level site for each year then when that year graduates you can
archive the site out to a backup file and remove the site.

For instance, there are top-level sites right now:

/personal is one of them, under which is tscot, bransfc, etc...

If we had /2005 under which is a site for each student.

how do we ensure that those students' sites under /2005 get made in the
right place and not /personal?

Even if you could create them under /2005 or /2006 you would still need
to remove the users accounts to remove the personal sites.

I guess you could add the year to the front of their username to make it
easier to identify them all when you are ready to delete  that years user
