Mapped Drive Issue - Wrong Folder is Displayed

Asked By: Kristine    Date: Mar 25    Category: Sharepoint    Views: 1220

I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to fix the following
issue:

I have a group of users that are mapping their S: drive to the root
of their Intranet site and instead they are getting the E$
Administrative share.

I am thinking that we have a serious permission issue as the user
should not be able to browse to the root of the drive as the user
should only get to the root of the web folder of the SharePoint
site.

What is happening is the users are trying to "map" a drive to the
root being: \\intranet.oursite.com\ what they are seeing is the
\\intranet.oursite.com\E$ share on the SharePoint server (not good).

If the browse to the sub-directories it is fine:
\\intranet.oursite.com\team\ works as expected.

Any insight would be great.
