we have some developers here who feel they do not have to package web parts.
With that being said, we've continued our bad habits from SharePoint 2003 right
in to MOSS 2007.

Previously, we would manually add in the assembly into our web.config, copy the
required files into their locations ...and move on. However, with MOSS 2007 --
this has resulted in a lot of issues... especially with our Network Load
Balanced WFE's (all of this is still in development). I'm trying to find some
sort of documentation / recommendations ...etc that says what we're doing is
wrong so I can make a point. Otherwise ...we're stuck with doing things the
wrong way.
