How to manage user roles

i created one portal for our team, how to manage the user roles, actuall if
i entered any user name and password in the loading of portal if is showing all
the administrator content but i didnt add that user into our portal users.
i added one username in my portal and i given him reader role based
permission , but if i entered with his name it is showing all administrator
what changes i need to do for that in the administration (role based
content display).
