lost portal

Asked By: Keon Melendez         Date: Aug 12, 2005      Category: Sharepoint      Views: 146

I am installing my first SPS 2003 portal. I have had some problems
with getting the installation to work as planned. I finally created a
portal called xyz and a team site called xyz.

I had create a new virtual server for the new portal called xyz, but
when it didn't work as planned (I used host header names instead of IP
addresses and the url wasn;t right for our company), I deleted the
virtual server.

The problem is that now I cannot find the actual portal site where the
news and topic tabs are. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The content of the portal  is almost fully contained in the database.
Only a handful of files can be found on the hard drive. These are stored
in the "60" dir. This can be found in the Sharepoint dir in the program
files dir.
